SpellSpoken™: Why Words Matter More Than We’ve Been Told

SpellSpoken was born from a feeling I couldn’t ignore.

Every time I heard women referred to as bitches…by others or by themselves, I felt it in my body. A subtle tightening. A drop in energy. A quiet, internal recoil that whispered, something about this is not right.

Words are not neutral.

Words are spells.

They carry frequency. They imprint the subconscious. They attach themselves to our nervous system, our self-image, our sense of worth. What we speak, what we hear repeatedly, and what we surround ourselves with doesn’t just pass through us, it becomes part of us.

So when I began noticing how casually women accept and even celebrate language that diminishes them, I couldn’t unsee it.

“Boss Bitch.”
“Bad Bitch.”
“Don’t mess with me, I’m a bitch.”

These phrases are often packaged as empowerment. Marketed as humor. Slapped onto mugs, t-shirts, wall signs, and social media posts as if reclaiming a word automatically strips it of its power.

But here’s the truth many of us feel in our bones, even if we haven’t put words to it yet:

Your subconscious doesn’t understand irony. Your body doesn’t register sarcasm as empowerment. And your soul knows when language is misaligned…even when culture tells you it’s “just a joke.”

Why Do We Accept This?

We didn’t create this dynamic…we inherited it.

For centuries, women have been silenced, minimized, controlled, labeled “too much,” “too emotional,” “too loud,” “too soft,” “too wild.” Language has always been one of the sharpest tools used to keep us small.

So when society handed us a way to own a degrading word and call it empowerment, many of us accepted it without questioning the cost.

We learned to armor ourselves with humor.
We learned to laugh before someone else could laugh at us. We learned to preemptively insult ourselves so it couldn’t be used against us. And for a long time, that felt like survival.

But something is shifting.

Women are waking up.

We are remembering who we are beneath the conditioning, beneath the jokes, beneath the labels. We are reclaiming a deeper knowing…one that understands the world doesn’t just need our toughness, our productivity, or our resilience.

The world needs our strength and our tenderness. Our intuition and our intelligence. Our fire and our softness.

And LANGUAGE MATTERS in that remembering.

This is Why SpellSpoken Exists!!!

SpellSpoken exists because I no longer want to participate in language that knocks women back into submission…no matter how cleverly it’s disguised.

It exists to offer an alternative.

Words that lift instead of label.
Language that honors instead of hardens.
Phrases that call us forward into our power, rather than anchoring us to outdated narratives that were never meant to serve us.

SpellSpoken is about conscious word choice. It’s about intentional consumption.
It’s about understanding that what we drink our coffee from, what we wear on our bodies, and what we display in our homes quietly reinforces our inner dialogue…every single day.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about awareness.

A Moment of Reflection (I Invite You to Pause Here)

Take a look around your home.

Do you own a mug, a sign, a shirt…something you once bought because it was “funny” or “edgy”…that uses language that diminishes women?

Or take a moment to scroll online and notice how often phrases like Boss Bitch or Bad Bitch are marketed as affirmations.

Now pause. (I’m not kidding…go do it!!!)

Don’t analyze.
Don’t justify.
Just feel.

What happens in your body when you read those words slowly?
Do you feel expansion, or contraction?
Do you feel empowered, or subtly braced?

Your body knows the truth long before your mind catches up. And that awareness is where change begins.

It’s my mission to Shift the Narrative

SpellSpoken is my offering to women who are ready to stop being the butt of the joke we never actually found funny.

It’s for women who are done shrinking, hardening, or laughing off language that doesn’t honor their full humanity.

It’s for women who understand that words are not just decoration…they are direction.

And it’s my way of contributing to a larger cultural shift: one where empowerment doesn’t require self-erasure, and strength doesn’t require self-insult.

If you feel this in your bones…if something in you whispered yes while reading this…I invite you to explore the SpellSpoken collection.

Choose words that speak to you, not over you. And know that many more offerings are coming…each one created with the intention to uplift, affirm, and remind you of who you already are.

Because words shape worlds.
And it’s time we chose ours with care.

Words are spells and they matter more than you think… choose wisely.

So Mote It Be! ✨

With Love and Magick,
Christine
